In March 2017, Tripadvisor named the island the world’s top destination in its Traveler’s choice award. Bali is an island and province of Indonesia. It is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music.

WHERE is Bali ?

It is located at the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. Bali is an island and province of Indonesia. The province includes the island of Bali and a few smaller neighbouring islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. The island is surrounded by coral reefs.

Bali is part of the Coral Triangle, the area with the highest biodiversity of marine species. In this area alone over 500 reef building coral species can be found. Beaches in the south tend to have white sand while those in the north and west have black sand.

What to see and do in Bali?

Tanah Lot Temple  is famed for its unique offshore setting and sunset backdrops. The onshore site is dotted with smaller shrines alongside visitors’ leisure facilities that comprise restaurants, shops and a cultural park presenting regular dance performances.

Uluwatu Temple – Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of six key temples believed to be Bali’s spiritual pillars, is renowned for its magnificent location, perched on top of a steep cliff. It is one of the top places on the island to go to for sunset delights.

Besakih Temple in Bali – Pura Besakih  is an artistic and unique complex that comprises at least 86 temples. Mount Agung’s high location gives it an almost magical spirit.

Tegallalang Rice Terraces  are a must see. It is a well-known spot for tourists, it’s just amazing.

Bali Safari & Marine Park is a must see for animal lovers. It is home to over 60 species, and the largest Bali’s animal theme park.

Elephant Cave in Bali – Goa Gajah is also a must see. Goa Gajah ‘Elephant Cave’ is an archaeological site of significant historical value.

Dolphin sightings at Lovina, this is the best place in Bali to make a dolphin sighting boat trip.


If you like to party, visit Kuta beach.


Also, you can hike or climb the Mount Batur at Kintamani.

If you like art and history, you can also visit some of Bali’s museums. For example, you can visit the Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali. The museum comprises several buildings and pavilions. It includes many examples of Balinese architecture.
The Neka Art Museum is a good place to learn about the development of painting in Bali.
Museum Le Mayeur, is an interesting example of Balinese-style architecture.
Museum Puri Lukisan displays fine examples of all schools of Balinese art.
Agung Rai Museum of Art, is the only place in Bali to see haunting works by influential German artist Walter Spies, alongside many more masterpieces. And there are many more interesting museums to visit.
