I’m forever in love with Russia, their culture, architecture, and art. Today, I’m going to show you why. For me, the most beautiful city is Moscow, simply, it has a soul. Sometimes, I think it looks like a fairy tale.
Where is Moscow?
Moscow is situated on the Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia. It’s the capital and most populous city of Russia. Moscow is a cultural, political, economic, and scientific center of Russia and also Eastern Europe.
Moscow is the largest city on the European continent.
What to see in Moscow?
At first, you HAVE TO see the Saint Basil’s Cathedral !
The Cathedral is a masterpiece of Russian architecture, it looks like a fairy tale castle. The building is shaped as a flame of a bonfire rising into the sky. It’s a church in the Red Square. The building, now a museum, if officially known as the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat .
The Moscow Kremlin, it means “fortress inside a city”. It’s a complex, overlooking the Moskva River, Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Red Square, and the Alexander Garden.
Do you like art?
Than, you have heard about Bolshoi Theatre.It is the most popular and famous theatre in Moscow. The focus is on classical music. Ballet in Russia if an important part of the culture, and it’s world famous.
Central House of Artist is the largest exhibition centre in Russia.
The Moscow metro is famous for its architecture. “Majakovskaya” is one of the most beautiful stations. The underground complexes are decorated by statues, monuments, paintings, mosaics, and stained-glass windows. Some of them are protected by the state as valuable cultural objects.
The Historical Musem of Moscow is a must-see if you are interested in Russian history. It’s situated on Red Square.

Do you like shopping?
GUM Department Store, situated on Red Square, is one of the largest shopping centre in Europe.It’s also known for its architecture. It hosts art and photo exhibitions.
If you like night outs, don’t worry, the city is full of clubs, restaurants and bars. Moscow has many of the world’s largest nightclubs.
Do you like nature?
Moscow has 96 parks and 18 gardens, including four botanical.
Gorky Park, officially the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after Maxim Gorky. It contains estrades, children’s attractions, the Observation Wheel water ponds with boats and water bicycles, dancing, tennis courts and other sports facilities.
There are also: Izmaylovsky Park, Sokolniki Park, Losiny Ostrov National Park, Tsytsin Main Botanical Garden of Academy of Sciences, Lilac Park…
If you like animals, Moscow has so much to offer. Moscow has 27 Zoos.
Some of them are; Moskvarium, Moscow Zoo, Moscow Oceanarium, Exotarium, Moscow Dolphinarium, Touching Zoo Lesnoye Posolstvo, Zoo Monkey Planet.. There is something for everyone.
What to eat in Moscow?
Pelmeni at Cafe Pushkin, Khachapuri at Cafe Khachapuri, Black Currant Pastry at Volkonsky, Syrniki with Homemade Jam, Borscht, Blini, Lepyoshka at Bagrationovskaya Market..
If you want to see something special and unusual. If you have the chance to see Russia, and Moscow, don’t miss it. Give Moscow a chance, feel Moscow. It has so much to offer. There are so many corners which aren’t explored.
